In a bustling town, nestled near the temple, lived a humble widow named Miriam. Each day, she would walk to the temple, her heart filled with devotion and gratitude. Despite her meager means, she believed that every offering mattered to God.

One sunny afternoon, as Miriam approached the temple, she noticed a crowd gathered around the treasury. Wealthy individuals were proudly depositing large sums of money, their voices echoing with pride as they spoke of their generosity. Miriam felt a pang of sadness, knowing she had only two small coins to give, worth only a fraction of what the wealthy were offering.

As she stood at the entrance, she heard a voice within her urging her to give. With trembling hands, she clutched her coins tightly, contemplating their significance. "What difference can I make?" she thought. Yet, she remembered the teachings of her faith, that true giving comes from the heart, not the amount.

Gathering her courage, Miriam stepped forward. The crowd barely noticed her as she approached the treasury. With a deep breath, she placed her two coins into the offering box, her heart swelling with love and faith. In that moment, she felt a profound connection to God, knowing she had given all she had.

Unbeknownst to her, Jesus was observing from a distance. He turned to His disciples and said, “Truly, I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They gave out of their wealth, but she, out of her poverty, has put in everything—all she had to live on.”

Miriam left the temple that day not with riches, but with a heart full of joy and purpose. She understood that her small act of faith was a testament to her love for God, and in that, she found her true treasure.
