# Oakhaven: A Medium-Sized Town Map

**Overall Layout:** Oakhaven is nestled in a gentle valley, bordered to the west by a slow-moving river (the Oak River, giving the town its name) and to the east by a gently sloping hillside dotted with small farms.  The town itself is roughly oval-shaped, with the main thoroughfare (Oak Street) running north-south through the center.

**Key Locations:**

* **North End (Residential & Farming):** This area features primarily smaller, more modest homes, clustered together.  Several small farms are located just outside the town walls in this area, providing fresh produce. A small, well-maintained orchard sits at the very northern edge.

* **Central Oak Street:** This is the bustling heart of Oakhaven.  It features:
    * **The Golden Barrel Tavern:** A popular gathering spot, known for its hearty ale and lively atmosphere.  Located mid-way down Oak Street.
    * **The Weaver's Guild Hall:** A large building showcasing intricate weaving patterns on its exterior.  Located near the southern end of Central Oak Street.
    * **The General Store:** A well-stocked shop offering a variety of goods, from tools and fabrics to basic supplies. Located near the Golden Barrel.
    * **The Town Square:** A large open space, often used for markets, festivals, and public announcements. Located at the intersection of Oak Street and Mill Street.
    * **The Blacksmith's Forge:**  The rhythmic clang of the hammer can be heard throughout the day. Located near the northern end of Central Oak Street.

* **South End (Commercial & Government):** This area is more densely packed, with larger buildings.
    * **The Town Hall:** A sturdy stone building, the seat of Oakhaven's government.  Located at the southernmost point of Oak Street.
    * **The Temple of Eldoria:** A grand temple dedicated to the goddess of nature.  Located on a slight rise overlooking the town.
    * **The Merchant's Row:** A collection of shops and stalls offering a wider variety of goods than the General Store.  Located just west of the Town Hall.
    * **The Mill:**  Located on the Oak River, providing the town with flour and powering several smaller workshops.


**Points of Interest:**

* **The Old Mill Road:** A winding path leading south from the Mill, eventually leading to a secluded waterfall and rumored hidden cave.
* **The Whispering Woods:** A dark and mysterious forest bordering the eastern side of Oakhaven, rumored to be haunted.
* **The Abandoned Mine:** Located on the hillside east of town, this mine is said to contain dangerous creatures and valuable treasures.
