Granny Square Pattern: 7” x 7”

Materials Needed:

• Yarn in your chosen colors
• Appropriate crochet hook size

Pattern Instructions:

1. Foundation Chain:

   • Chain 20.

2. Row 1:

   • Single crochet in the 2nd chain from the hook and in each chain across. (19 single crochets)

3. Row 2:

   • Chain 1, turn.
   • *1 double crochet in the first stitch, 1 single crochet in the next stitch; repeat from * across. End with 1 double crochet in the last stitch.

4. Row 3:

   • Chain 1, turn.
   • Single crochet in each stitch across.

5. Row 4:

   • Chain 1, turn.
   • *1 double crochet in the first stitch, 1 single crochet in the next stitch; repeat from * across.

6. Row 5:

   • Chain 1, turn.
   • Single crochet in each stitch across.

7. Creating the W and Anchor:

   • In the next row (Row 6), using puff stitch:
     • Yarn over, insert hook into the stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop (3 loops on hook), yarn over, pull through 2 loops (2 loops on hook), yarn over, insert hook into the same stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop (4 loops on hook), yarn over, pull through 2 loops (3 loops on hook), yarn over, pull through all 3 loops. Repeat this process to form the letter "W."
     • For the anchor, create a puff stitch in the desired location, ensuring it is distinct and visually appealing.

8. Finish:

   • Continue alternating between Row 1 and Row 2 until the square measures 7” x 7”.
   • Fasten off and weave in ends.
