[SCENE START]

**INT. MAMA IFE'S HUT - NIGHT**

SOUND of crickets chirping

MAMA IFE sits alone, cradling a photograph of her late husband.  IFE and KOLA sleep on a mat nearby.  The hut is sparsely furnished but clean.

MAMA IFE (to the photograph):  It’s been six months, my love.  Six months since they took you from me.  Six months since the…accident.  They say it was an accident.  But I know the truth.

A knock at the door.  Mama Ife cautiously opens it to reveal MADAM SADE.

MADAM SADE:  Mama Ife?  Are you alright?

MAMA IFE:  Sade…  Thank you for coming.

MADAM SADE:  Don’t mention it.  I heard… whispers.  About Chief Okafor.  About the Governor.

MAMA IFE:  They’re vultures, Sade.  Picking at the bones of my husband’s legacy.  They want my land.  They want everything.

MADAM SADE:  But the police… Detective Bode?

MAMA IFE:  He’s trying, but they’re powerful men.  Very powerful.

**INT. CHIEF OKAFOR'S MANSION - NIGHT**

CHIEF OKAFOR sits at his large desk, Governor ADISA across from him.  A half-empty bottle of expensive whiskey sits between them.

GOVERNOR ADISA:  The widow is proving troublesome.  She’s asking too many questions.

CHIEF OKAFOR:  She’s a woman.  She’ll eventually give in.  We’ll offer her a settlement.  A generous one.  Enough to keep her quiet.

GOVERNOR ADISA:  And if she doesn’t accept?

CHIEF OKAFOR:  Then… we’ll find another way to persuade her.

**INT. DETECTIVE BODE'S OFFICE - DAY**

DETECTIVE BODE pores over files, MR. DAPO sits opposite him.

MR. DAPO:  I believe the Governor and Chief Okafor are involved in something far more sinister than a simple land grab.  I have evidence suggesting they were responsible for the death of Mama Ife’s husband.

DETECTIVE BODE:  Evidence?  What kind of evidence?

MR. DAPO:  Financial records, witness testimonies…  It’s all there.  But I need your help to bring them to justice.

DETECTIVE BODE:  This is dangerous, Mr. Dapo.  These men are powerful.  But I’ll look into it.

**INT. MAMA IFE'S HUT - NIGHT**

Mama Ife is packing a small bag.  Ife and Kola watch her anxiously.

IFE:  Mama, where are we going?

MAMA IFE:  We’re going to fight for what’s rightfully ours.  We’re going to fight for justice.

**EXT. TOWN SQUARE - DAY**

A large crowd has gathered.  Mama Ife, supported by Madam Sade, Mr. Dapo, and Detective Bode, stands before Governor Adisa and Chief Okafor.  The children watch from the sidelines.

MAMA IFE:  (Shouting)  I will not be silenced!  I will not be intimidated!  You will pay for what you have done!

Detective Bode steps forward, presenting evidence to the crowd.  The crowd erupts in anger.
